Judicial Evaluations & Polls - Upon the request of the Board of Directors, develops and distributes judicial candidate qualification and preference polls in election years, and a judicial evaluation poll during non-election years.
Strategic Planning - Will prepare a long-term strategic plan to guide the direction and future of the Bar Association and will also prepare short-term plans to direct specific areas, as appropriate.
Bench Bar Conference - Plans and conducts an annual Bench Bar Conference for the TCBA attorney and judicial members.
CLE Seminars - Plans and conducts CLE seminars on varying topics of interest to all members of TCBA.
Court Coordinator Seminar - Plans and conducts annual CLE seminar for Court Coordinators.
Juvenile Law Seminar - Plans and conducts a seminar to include some of the required CLE for being on the Juvenile Court appointment list.
Editorial - Assists the Editor and Staff Editor in publishing the Bulletin and soliciting legal articles for the publication.
Technology/Social Media - Will assist in the design of the Bar Association website; provide input for apps to be used by members; oversee the Social Media venues.
Diversity Program - The Diversity Committee is committed to the inclusion of all in the legal profession. Through its projects, it strives to enhance employment and economic opportunities for all minority and women attorneys and to promote the involvement by minority and women in the TCBA.
Fee Arbitration - Reviews and hears disputes between clients and attorneys regarding attorney fees. Also hears disputes between attorneys regarding fees.
Lawyer Referral & Information Service - Oversees the LRIS Rules & Regulations; provides educational workshops for staff, and promotes the LRIS to TCBA membership and the public.
LLEAD (Peer Assistance Program) - Coordinates and plans meetings assisting lawyers who have trouble conducting their practices due to personal or health matters, as well as addressing alcohol and/or chemical dependency, mental illness, and depression.
Membership - Promotes membership in TCBA and solicits new members, as well as researching new member benefits, reviewing proposals from vendors and promotes benefits and services for the membership.
Transition to Practice/Mentor Program - Seeks experienced attorneys to mentor young lawyers in developing their practice of law and help plan CLE programs to further educate them on the daily practice of law.
Court Staff Appreciation - Assists in the selection of the recipients of the Outstanding Staff Awards and plan the reception honoring the court staff and the award recipients.
Docket Call Socials - Coordinates bi-monthly socials, including seeking sponsors and securing locations.
Holiday Party - Plans and coordinates the annual Holiday Party.
Law Day Awards Dinner - Plans the annual awards dinner and coordinates with subcommittees of the various awards including Blackstone, Professionalism and Silver Gavel.
Tortfeasors - Plans the annual fundraiser program, is responsible for getting acts and sponsors and help with staging the program. All monies raised are used to fund the Community Service Committees below.
The following committees are underwritten by the Tarrant County Bar Foundation but volunteers are provided by TCBA members.
Annual Food Drive - Plans and coordinates the annual drive for the Tarrant Area Food Bank.
Bears & Books Project - Coordinates the collection of bears and books for National Adoption Day and the Family Courts.
Big Brothers & Big Sisters - Acts as a liaison between the local law firms and the Big Brothers & Big Sisters agency (which mates adults in one-on-one mentoring relationships with local children.)
Blood Drive - Plans and coordinates the annual blood drive.
Elder Law - Presents programs on various areas of law to senior citizen groups as requested. Updates the Elder Law Handbook as needed.
LegalLine - Seeks volunteers for the bi-monthly LegalLine, a free call-in public service, and solicits sponsors for refreshments for volunteers.
People's Law School - Plans and coordinates an annual event to provide free information and education on the legal system to the public.
Tarrant County Volunteer Attorney Services (TVAS) – Develop a network of lawyers to assist low-income citizens who otherwise could not afford counsel.
Texas Lawyers for Texas Veterans (TLTV) - Develop a network of lawyers to assist veterans who otherwise could not afford counsel and to develop and assist a pro bono legal clinic for veterans.
Trinity Habitat for Humanity - Solicits funds and seeks volunteers for the building of a Habitat Home. Obtains sponsors for meals provided for the volunteers during construction during the years the Association is building a home.
