Texas Lawyers for Texas Veterans – Tarrant County Chapter (TLTV) is a community service program of the Tarrant County Bar Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. TLTV encourages and recruits Tarrant County attorneys to provide free legal services and education to veterans and spouses of deceased veterans. TLTV began in 2010 in response to a State Bar of Texas initiative and has served over a thousand veterans with the help of hundreds of volunteers. TLTV receives financial support from donations and sponsorships, as well as from grants from the Texas Access to Justice Foundation.

At the legal clinics, a veteran or spouse of a deceased veteran will receive a free legal consultation. An income and program eligible veteran may receive additional legal assistance after the clinic depending on the availability of volunteers. TLTV does not have staff attorneys; it relies on volunteer attorneys to provide pro bono legal assistance.

TLTV is able to help veterans through its partnerships with a number of legal aid, community, and veteran organizations. TLTV partners with Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas, Texas A&M University School of Law, MHMR of Tarrant County, and others to provide its services.

Interested veterans can call 817.546.4460 and leave a message to make an appointment. Interested volunteers can contact the TCBA to learn about volunteer opportunities.
